The Fernox CC1 20 PICV Valve Pack is a pre-engineered commissioning kit designed for use with the CC1 20 Side Stream Filter. The package enables accurate flow control through the side-stream circuit, helping engineers achieve BG29-compliant operation and ensuring the correct proportion of system water passes through the separator for effective air and dirt removal.
The CC1 20 PICV Valve Pack has been developed to provide a simple and reliable method of controlling flow through the CC1 Side Stream Filter Air & Dirt 20. By accurately regulating side stream flow rates, the valve pack helps ensure optimum separator performance while supporting industry best practice recommendations.
The kit includes:
1 x AB-QM Pressure Independent Control Valve (PICV)
2 x PICV Unions
1 x Sight Flow Indicator
2 x Pressure & Temperature Gauges

Suitable for:
Heating systems from 85 kW to 1,666 kW
Cooling systems from 66 kW to 1,333 kW
Systems with water volumes between 5,000 and 20,000 litres
Single pump and twin pump installations
The integrated Pressure Independent Control Valve enables accurate adjustment of flow through the side-stream circuit, helping to ensure that the total system water volume can pass through the separator within a 24-hour period, in accordance with BSRIA guidance.
By maintaining a controlled and stable flow rate, the valve pack supports effective filtration performance while reducing commissioning complexity.
Operating Principle:
The PICV valve is adjusted to achieve the required flow rate based on system volume calculations. Once commissioned, the valve limits and stabilises flow through the CC1 20 Side Stream Filter Air & Dirt, ensuring the unit operates within the recommended flow range regardless of system pressure fluctuations.
The supplied sight flow indicator allows visual verification of flow, while pressure and temperature gauges support monitoring and commissioning activities.
Installation and commissioning should be carried out by suitably qualified personnel in accordance with local regulations and system design requirements. Flow settings should be adjusted according to system volume calculations and commissioning guidance supplied with the product.
