Our laboratories include sophisticated and comprehensive water testing facilities that can be applied to many and varied industrial and commercial situations.
Founded in 1998 by A. Dyer and A. Upton, Aquasolve began life with two ion-chromatographs running four channels and processed 1,000 samples in its first year. Over the next two decades we continually invested in automation and instrumentation—expanding our premises, adding ICP-OES, robotic pH/conductivity platforms and high-throughput titrators—so that today we handle more than 50,000 samples annually. ISO 9001 accreditation in 2007 and our acquisition by Fernox in 2024 mark the proud milestones of our journey.
1998 – Company founded by A. Dyer & A. Upton; Two IC systems (4 channels) installed; 1,000 samples processed that year
2003 – Moved to larger lab space, first fully automated titration station brought online, installed first ICP-OES
2006 – Commissioned our first fully robotic pH/conductivity measurement line
2007 – Achieved ISO 9001 accreditation
2010 – Added second ICP-OES to meet rising demand (>30,000 samples/yr)
2014 – Relocated to current, purpose-built laboratory
2015 – Annual throughput tops 47,000 samples
2022 – Among the first UK labs to install the Metrohm Large Omnis Titrator (175-position autosampler, four-function capability)
2024 – Aquasolve joins the Fernox family
Fernox laboratories include sophisticated and comprehensive water testing facilities that can be applied to a variety of tasks.
Rapid multi-element analysis by exciting sample atoms in a high-temperature plasma and measuring their characteristic light emissions. Ideal for tracing metals and ash-forming elements in boiler feedwater.
Automated separation and quantification of common anions (chloride, sulfate, nitrate, etc.) via suppressed-conductivity detection. Used for determination of aggressive anions and inhibiting anodic species.
Cation-exchange chromatography focused on separating and measuring NH₄⁺ in your water. Critical for monitoring nitrogen species that can fuel corrosion or biological growth.
Fully automated acid/base and redox titrations for parameters such as alkalinity, hardness, and dissolved oxygen scavengers. Ensures reproducible end-point detection with minimal analyst intervention.
Filtration and gravimetric determination of particles retained on a pre-weighed filter. Provides total suspended solids (mg/L) data to assess fouling potential and clarify system blowdown needs.
Established volumetric and colorimetric methods or legacy parameters not covered by modern instrumentation. Offers flexibility for specialized assays.
