The Fernox Electrolytic Scale Reducer range uses electrolytic principles to prevent the build-up of scale throughout the home, and remains effective for up to 10 years, dependent on water usage. It works by altering the structure of the hardness salts, inducing coagulation and providing benefits to a range of appliances from kettles to showers and boilers offering whole house protection against scale. Part L of the Building Regulations (England and Wales) states that in hard water areas which exceed 200ppm, provision should be made to treat feed water to water heaters and hot water circuits of combination boilers to reduce the rate of limescale formation as well as limiting its harmful effects on energy efficiency
An in-line scale reducer to prevent the build-up of scale using electrolytic principles
The Fernox Electrolytic Scale Reducer is installed into the pipework using compression fittings. In an average domestic usage household the Fernox Electrolytic Scale Reducer will provide whole house protection for approximately ten years dependent on water usage levels. The unit is effective immediately and is guaranteed for 12 months against manufacturing defects. The unit is pressure rated to 10 bar at 20˚C with an operating temperature of 2˚C to 40˚C (cold feed) and is designed for 15mm pipework. Install in compliance with WRAS installation requirements IRN R001, R120, R150, R170, R290 and/or local water regulations.
