A record number of employees volunteered their time on Earth Day, 22nd April, for our fifth annual litter pick initiative. The team’s efforts resulted in the collection of a significant amount of rubbish from across Horsell Common, contributing greatly to the tidiness and upkeep of the local area.
Earth day, a global movement, raises awareness about environmental conservation and activism while encouraging individuals to appreciate the outdoors. It encourages people to find ways to preserve and improve the environment. At Fernox, environmental conservation and sustainability are core values, and employees embrace the opportunity to give back to their community.
Employees at Fernox receive eight hours of paid volunteering time per year as part of the ESI Cares programme, enabling them to support causes they are passionate about.
“The Fernox team is always looking for ways to give back to the local community, and Earth Day is a great opportunity to clean up the area whilst taking the time to appreciate the great outdoors,” commented Charel Marais, General Manager at Fernox. “We are passionate about lowering our environmental impact where possible, and at Fernox, we recognise the positive change we can drive. I am so proud of our motivated and passionate team of volunteers, who came out in record numbers to collect a massive amount of litter and rubbish to help keep our environment clean.”
