Heat Transfer Fluid HP-EG 20L

Product Code: 62595

A concentrated heat transfer fluid for Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps based on ethylene glycol. This high performance product is designed to protect against corrosion and limescale, as well as frost protection from -10 to -33°C.

  • High performance heat transfer fluid for maximum protection against corrosion and scale, to extend system longevity
  • Higher efficiency and lower viscosity than propylene glycol based products
  • Lower viscosity means less energy is used to pump the heat transfer fluid around the system
  • Excellent pH buffering to maintain optimum system pH for a mixed-metal system
  • Cost effective solution where thermal efficiency is a key requirement
  • Compatible with all metals and materials in heat pump systems
Application, Fitting & Dosing

Dilute before use using mains water. Deionised water (demineralised) or artificially softened water is also suitable, if preferred. To ensure adequate corrosion protection, the minimum ‘in-use’ concentration of the product is 25%. Upon dilution Fernox HP-EG will provide frost protection according to the table below.

Concentration 25% 30% 35% 40% 45% 50%

Frost Protection -10 °C -14 °C -18 °C -22 °C -28 °C -33 °C

Frost protection levels can be checked using a Fernox Refractometer. Existing heating systems should be cleaned of sludge and limescale deposits with a suitable Fernox Cleaner before adding Fernox HP-EG.

Package, Handling & Safety
