Fernox CC1 Anti-Microbial Cartridges utilise next-generation side stream filtration technology developed to improve HVAC system performance, energy efficiency and operational safety.
The cartridges use micron-sized zeolite structures as a carrier for a specially curated anti-microbial treatment based on silver (Ag) and zinc (Zn) particles. By optimising fibre diameter to the active particle size, the filtration media maximises surface area and enhances interaction between the system fluid and the anti-microbial agents.
This technology helps prevent biofilm build-up on the cartridge surface, reduces biofouling and improves debris holding capacity, enabling longer maintenance intervals and reduced operating costs.
Fernox CC1 Anti-Microbial Cartridges are designed for use in side stream filtration systems as part of a staged filtration strategy for closed-loop commercial heating and cooling installations.

In heavily fouled installations, staged filtration allows debris to be removed in a controlled manner, reducing the risk of premature blockage and enabling gradual improvement of system cleanliness. Coarser filtration stages are introduced first, followed by finer micron-rated cartridges as debris loading reduces and maintenance intervals extend.
This approach supports improved system reliability, extended filter service life, reduced biofouling and consistent filtration performance over time, while helping systems achieve and maintain optimum operating efficiency.
