The Fernox CA1 Air Separator continuously removes dissolved gases and entrained air from sealed commercial HVAC systems. Entrained gases are a major cause of corrosion, noise, and reduced thermal efficiency. By removing air from the circulating fluid, the CA1 Air Separator ensures more stable operation and protects critical system components. Its low pressure drop internal design supports energy efficiency and flow stability, helping to reduce pump load and optimise overall system performance.
Built with a corrosion-resistant carbon steel body, the separator is equipped with an integrated automatic air vent and is available in both Standard and High Flow variants to suit different system requirements. The flanged connections make it suitable for commercial applications such as plant rooms, hospitals, schools, and office buildings. Compliant with PED 2014/68/EU.
Designed for commercial and industrial closed-loop heating and chilled water systems, the Fernox CA1 Air Separator is typically installed on the main flow or return line, preferably at high turbulence points to maximise air separation.

Operating Principle
System water enters the CA1 and passes through an internal geometry that reduces flow velocity and encourages the release of entrained air. Microbubbles coagulate and rise to the upper chamber and are expelled via the integrated automatic air vent. This continuous process helps reduce internal corrosion, noise, and circulation problems, without requiring maintenance or system shutdown.

Each CA1 unit is supplied fully assembled and hydrostatically tested at >15 bar. The unit includes a factory-installed automatic air vent and lifting lugs for larger sizes. No special storage conditions are required. Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with system specifications and safety guidelines.
