Install the Fernox TF1 Omega Filter ideally on the return pipe to the boiler.
The unit should be fitted vertically, however, it is able to be positioned at 45° if headroom clearance is limited. Allow adequate headroom for the magnet to be removed when cleaning the unit.
How to install:
- Supplied drain valve needs to be fitted.
- Switch off the boiler and drain the system.
- Connect the Fernox TF1 Omega Filter to the pipework. The unit should be installed so that the direction of flow within the heating circuit follows the directional arrow on the inlet/outlet port.
- Tighten all connections. Tighten ring collar to secure position with wrench.
- Switch boiler back on.
How to clean:
- Switch off the boiler.
- Remove the drain valve cap.
- Open the drain valve.
- Remove the magnet. Flush out the filter until water runs clear.
- Close the drain valve.
- Replace the drain valve cap. Re-insert the magnet.
- Restart the boiler.
How to dose (265ml):
*Ensure dosing is completed before system is filled, or when it has been drained.
- Switch off the boiler.
- Lightly loosen the ring collar on the manifold connection.
- Turn the filter body upside down so the drain valve is positioned at the top.
- Remove the drain valve cap and open the drain valve.
- Pour the chemical into the filter body.
- Close the drain valve and replace the drain valve cap.
- Turn the filter body back to its original position with the drain valve facing downwards.
- Re-tighten the ring collar and proceed to refilling the system as normal.
How to dose (express):
*Ensure dosing is completed before system is filled, or when it has been drained.
- Switch off the boiler.
- Remove the drain valve cap.
- Attach the Express adapter and screw onto the drain valve.
- Open the drain valve.
- Squeeze the express trigger for 30 seconds.
- Close the drain valve and unscrew the adapter from the Filter.
- Replace the drain valve cap.
- Switch boiler back on.
Changing orientation:
- Loosen ring collar and turn inlet/outlet port to required position
- Tighten ring collar to secure position with wrench
Notes:
- When adding any component to a heating system, the installer must ensure the system continues to comply with BS7671:2008 guidelines and requirements for electrical installations.
- To prevent frost damage, do not install externally or at temperatures of 0°C or below Inhibitor usage guidelines.
- A TF1 Omega Filter will protect the boiler from the damaging effects of circulating corrosion debris, which has collected in the system as a result of a chemical reaction when water comes into contact with mixed metals used within a heating and cooling system. To prevent further corrosion from taking place Fernox recommends using a quality inhibitor in combination with the TF1 Omega Filter.
- In circumstances where demineralised or softened water is present a quality inhibitor must be used.
