  • High capacity and compact design
  • Easy to install – fits on horizontal and vertical pipework in both flow directions. The filter can operate at an angle of 45°
  • Unique action, removes magnetic and non-magnetic contaminants from system water
  • Smart, tough, forged brass construction (no hidden porosity) with nickel plating
  • Unique manifold with double radial seals and multiple orientation capabilities
  • Powerful neodymium magnet assembly with threaded magnet cap
  • Engineered Brass Construction – The TF1 Omega Filter is constructed from a high strength engineering grade brass, suitable for heating and cooling system applications. Every filter is tested on the production line to ensure there are no leaks. The brass components are nickel-plated to increase durability and resistance, meaning the filter is compatible with a range of glycols and additives used in central heating systems.

Low pressure loss – The TF1 Omega Filter has been designed to ensure there is a minimal pressure head loss, whilst also maintaining a high collection efficiency. The internal HPS, magnet assembly and area of low flow have all been engineered to allow the filter to capture a range of system contaminates, whilst ensuring this does not impact the rest of the heating system.

High-quality components – The TF1 Omega Filter utilises a range of high-quality component parts that ensure the filter offers the best possible performance. The magnet is made using a premium grade of neodymium, enabling a high-efficiency capture rate, combined with the stainless-steel hydronic particle separator, which enables the continued and consistent filtration of a range of system contaminates.

Designed to be installed on domestic heating systems, on 22mm or 28mm pipework size. The filter can be easily fitted onto either horizontal or vertical pipework in both flow directions. The TF1 Omega Filter can be installed on vertical or horizontal pipework, in accordance with the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the manifold. The filter should be fitted on the return to the boiler, and can be installed at up to 45⁰ from the vertical position.

As with all magnetic products, if you have an implanted cardiac device extra caution should always be taken when handling any magnetic filter.

Individually packaged with instructions included. No special storage requirements.

    Operating Principle

Contaminated water enters the filter via the manifold, carrying a variety of system debris and particulate matter held in suspension. This debris, including ferrous impurities such as Magnetite, move through the manifold and into the main body of the filter.

Water is forced down towards the bottom of the filter due to the engineered flow characteristics created within the filter by the Hydronic Particle Separator (HPS). The HPS helps to disrupt any dirt particles held in suspension by the water, as well as direct these particles towards an engineered area of low flow at the base of the filter.

The dynamic flow of the water within the filter also allows ferrous impurities to be captured by the high-powered magnet assembly.

To exit the filter, water must pass over the magnet sheath and around the HPS, then out of the manifold. In this way, system debris has difficulty escaping the unit, and is either trapped in the area of low flow, or captured by the powerful magnet, meaning clean water exits the filter.

Any dirt collected within the filter can then be discharged by removing the magnet from the sheath and opening the drain valve. This procedure is shown in the cleaning guide and does not require system shutdown or for the filter to be disassembled.

The following guide to estimating system volumes has been developed, based on field experience. Commercial systems (pressurised):

Multiply the boiler output rating in kWs by the figure detailed below (for the relevant type of system) to give an estimate of the total system volume. Allow an additional 10% (multiply by 1.1) for open vented systems of all types.

    Useful conversion factors:

Systems comprising perimeter heating, convectors, etc. 6 litres/kW
Ventilation systems (air handling units, fan coils, etc.) 8 litres/kW
    Steel panel radiators 11 litres/kW
    Cast iron radiators 14 litres/kW
‘Distant’ heating systems in large sprawling buildings 20 litres/kW
    Underfloor heating 23 litres/kW

    Domestic systems:

All small and microbore domestic installations 6 litres/kW n
    • The domestic system volume can be estimated by counting the number of single panel radiators in a property and multiplying by 10
    • Remember to count double panel radiators as two single panels
    • It is also important to consider thermal stores, which can add up to 100 litres to system capacity

Fernox Protectors are suitable for use on systems of all ages. However, it would be  advantageous to clean and flush the system with Fernox Cleaner F3 to remove  sludge before adding the Protector F1.

Alternatively, the universal Fernox Filter Fluid+ Protector can deliver sludge and debris to an existing in-line filter or a newly installed TF1 Filter, whilst protecting the system against further corrosion formation.

The TF1 Omega Filter is a high performance, nickel plated, in-line system filter, which is designed for domestic heating systems.

It is produced with quality materials and components and has been manufactured using precision engineering. Combining the strength of a powerful Neodymium magnet with Hydronic Particle Separation technology, the TF1 Omega Filter offers a superior collection capacity for both magnetic and non-magnetic debris.

The TF1 Omega Filter collects all types of corrosion, scale and installation debris.

By preventing these contaminants from circulating within a heating system, energy efficiency levels are optimised and the inconvenience of a system breakdown coupled with a major repair or replacement cost can be avoided.

The TF1 Omega Filter is not only compatible with all Fernox products, it is designed to act as a dosing point for any Fernox Express products.

In circumstances where demineralised or softened water is used a quality inhibitor must be present to prevent corrosion from taking place. The TF1 Omega Filter offers a convenient and fast way of introducing an inhibitor into the system with no mess or fuss.

No, the TF1 Omega Filter has been designed to ensure that even when it reaches a level of maximum collection, system water can still pass through the filter, short-circuiting the body, and flowing freely through the manifold.

The TF1 Omega Filter out performs other filters of its size by collecting significant quantities of system contaminants, and competes with many larger filters thanks to the cleverly designed internal mechanisms of the filter.

The HPS technology improves the overall collection of the filter, as well as the performance of the Neodymium magnet.

Different sizes and variations of a product can have different dimensions and instructions.
