Application and Dosage
The recommended ‘in use’ concentration of the product is 0.5%. One 500ml bottle will treat an average 130-litre system (up to 16 single radiators). The product can be dosed into the system via the Fernox TF1 filling point, the system filling loop or the radiator using a Fernox Injector and circulate. Fernox Protector + Filter Fluid liberates system contaminants and delivers them to an in-line filter for removal. Once all the work is complete on the heating system, the final action that we recommend is carried out, is to isolate the filter & empty collected contaminants. Fernox Protector + Filter Fluid should remain in the system. It is not for use in microbore systems. For heavily sludged systems or new installations, Fernox recommends cleaning and flushing using Fernox Cleaner F3/F5 before treating with Protector + Filter Fluid/ Protector F1 and installing a filter. The installation of a system or new boiler should comply with all local legislation such as Part L of the Building Regulations For continued protection, it is recommended Fernox Protector levels are checked annually as part of any filter maintenance programme. Protector + Filter Fluid should only be used when a system filter has been installed.
